Rwanda Nyabumera 311 is a unique specialty coffee from the Mahembe sector of Nyamasheke district, Western province. This coffee is grown at an altitude of 1800 m and is processed using the wash method, revealing a complex and refined aromatic profile.
Aromatic Profile:
- Citrus and Lemon: Fresh notes of orange, lemon and apple, bringing a vibrant acidity, like an explosion of freshness in every cup.
- Berries: Intense aromas of raspberry and strawberry, which perfectly complement the fruity and energizing taste.
- Toffee, Caramel and Chocolate Jam: A comforting base, with sweet accents that balance the acidity, culminating in a finish similar to that of fresh biscuits, with a final note of cream.
Origin and Story of the Farm:
Nyabumera Washing Station is strategically located at the entrance to the valley, in the Mahembe sector. Recently revitalized by the new owner, Providence, the station has undergone a transformation that promises to increase production and quality. In 2023, the station received coffee from over 1,200 farmers and implemented training programs (ATP) to support the sustainable development of the local community. With a balance of seasonal work and permanent employees (70% women in the seasonal workforce), Nyabumera is an example of sustainability and commitment to the future, with ambitious plans to reach 1,000 tons in the long term.
