Five-Spice works exceptionally well on duck, where it can be used in a marinade applied to the duck, but also to rub it on the duck breast. Five Spice can also be used in cakes, especially for the classic Christmas charm that the spice can bring to chocolate and other confectionery.
The core of Five Spice in the Mill & Mortar edition consists of fennel seed and anise, which is enhanced by cloves, cinnamon and coriander. A cucumber salad with cilantro and a little chilli goes perfectly with the Five Spice marinated meat.
