Nicaragua Papagayo is an exceptional specialty coffee from the Jinotega region, renowned for its high-quality coffee production. Grown at altitudes of over 1,200 meters, this 100% Arabica coffee offers a balanced and complex aromatic profile.

The dominant citrus notes, milk chocolate, are complemented by a subtle citrus acidity and a medium body, resulting in a harmonious and pleasant drink. The washed processing contributes to the clarity of the taste, highlighting the natural sweetness of the berries.

Ideal for espresso, but also for alternative methods such as V60, Aeropress or French Press, Nicaragua Papagayo is the perfect choice for coffee lovers looking for an authentic and refined taste experience.

Espresso:

  • Extraction ratio: 1:2
  • Temperature: 93°C
  • Time: 28 seconds
  • TDS: 9.0%

V60 / Pour Over:

  • Extraction ratio: 1:16
  • Temperature: 92°C
  • Time: 3:00 minutes

Is it suitable for espresso?

Yes, very suitable! The medium roast perfectly balances sweetness and acidity, and the resulting espresso is aromatic, velvety and full of character.

Is it also suitable for V60 or other manual methods?

Absolutely! It's a versatile coffee, which also expresses itself beautifully in hand-brew – its profile reveals notes of citrus, milk chocolate and cashew in a pleasant and balanced way.

What does "washed" processing mean?

Washed processing involves completely cleaning the beans of pulp before drying. The result? A clear, clean, interference-free taste – exactly what you want from a specialty coffee.

Is the coffee freshly roasted?

Yes, all our coffees are roasted in small batches at regular intervals. This ensures you get the best flavor – without compromise.

What does EUDR mean?

The EUDR is the EU Deforestation Regulation, which requires clear traceability for agricultural products. This coffee complies with this regulation, which means it comes from verified farms with no negative impact on tropical forests. In short: good coffee, leaving no trace in nature.

What is RFA (Rainforest Alliance) certification?

Rainforest Alliance is an international certification that attests to compliance with strict standards regarding sustainability, working conditions and environmental protection. A good choice for taste, but also for the planet.

Why are these certifications important?

In addition to exceptional taste, they also offer the guarantee that you support ethical practices – from fairly paid farmers to caring for soil, water and forests. It's coffee that does you good – in the cup and beyond.
